Ready, Set, Resolve

As you can probably imagine, our New Year's Eve celebration was a bit subdued. It's a simple equation, really:

Not Knowing Anyone + Being Pregnant = Spending NYE on the sofa in your pjs (actually, it equals Matt watching Carson Daly with the dogs while I sleep in bed...)

And, even though we avoided the crowds and couldn't officially toast in the New Year, we came up with a few resolutions. Matt would like to run 6 days/week, break 16 minutes in the 5K, and read more. I would like to eat more fresh produce, make the bed everyday, and give birth.

The last one is actually a big deal for me... I'm not so good at the whole pregnancy/birthing thing. About a year-and-a-half ago, we had an ectopic pregnancy which landed me in emergency surgery where they took away my left fallopian tube (and I subsequently went on a drug-induced rant on how the doctors -who were standing right there- were all hoes). It was this utter failure of a pregnancy that started us on our infertility journey, and after a zillion tests with the specialists, put straight on the road for IVF. In May, we did our first IVF cycle transferring three, perfect embryos only to come up completely empty handed. It wasn't until we went to a special infertility doctor that also specialized in immunology that I finally got knocked up- and have been able to stay knocked up - two things I haven't been able to manage on my own :) And so, my goal is to make it to June and actually give birth to this little one!

Oh- and I also resolve to get rid of some baby weight by the end of the year, too!
