Friendship, Hope, Fate, and a Blizzard

Hey All,

Had a really really long day yesterday, drove 950 miles from around Nashville, Tennessee to Odessa, Texas. The route took us through some notable towns, including:

Arkadelphia, Arkansas

Friendship, Arkansas

Hope, Arkansas

Texarkana, Arkansas

Texarkana, Texas (It's on the border)

Fate, Texas

A bizarre thing has been happening as we progress on this trip. It has been getting colder and colder as we approach Mexico. This created a problem around Abilene, Texas, when we suddenly found ourselves in near-blizzard conditions. The snow slowed us down quite a bit, but luckily, it tapered off after an hour or so, and we made it all the way to Odessa.

Today's route will take us through the remainder of Texas, through New Mexico, and into Arizona. We are stopping just past Phoenix, in a town called Goodyear.

Here are some pictures (and grainy snow video) from yesterday:

I took James to Cracker Barrel. I love that place. Amy was extremely jealous.
When we got into Texas, we realized that we weren't dressed appropriately, so we picked up some new clothes to fit in.

It's a toss up on who was the better looking Texan.

Not sure how well this video turned out, but here is a look at the snowy conditions.

the outfits are hilarious! you need more accessories though - a 6-gun seems appropriate - traditional Easter target shooting?

Abilene!!! That's my home. It snowed here in Dallas for a few hours this morning as well. Crazy! Safe travels!

I vote Matt as the better Texan. Old Spice is totally more cowboy than M&Ms.
