Popping Up

Levi has a bit of a sitting-up problem... meaning that he just refuses to do it. He can crawl and climb with the best of them, but he has absolutely NO desire to sit up. Now, the problem is that the pediatrician warned me last week that a 9 month old needs to be sitting for 15 minutes unassisted... um, not going to happen.

In hopes of being able to honestly tell the doctor, "Oh, Levi can't sit for 15 minutes but he's getting close", we have been forcing the issue with Levi. The main hindrance is that he just wants to go everywhere and see everything (Lord have mercy for when he can actually walk). But I think we found something...

Matt and I volunteered for the church nursery on Sunday and they had a ball popper. Levi has one too (thanks, Santa!) but we haven't set it up because he can't sit up, and sitting up is the best way to play with this toy. So Matt walked Levi over the popper, sat him down, and turned it on. And this is what he did for (I'm not kidding) five minutes:

He held on for dear life and would not let go! I don't know why he wants to bite it for so long... maybe to claim it from the other babies. He did this throughout the service... here's a second video we got, and this one's actually better:

Needless to say we went right home and set up Levi's ball popper and he does the same thing to his :)

We should totally play this video at Levi and Lola's wedding.
