Newport

Be forewarned: There are no pictures to this post... I broke my second camera in a month.  It was brand- spankin' new, too.  So, it's off to the repair shop.  And, until it's fixed, no pics.  Sorry!

Matt and I spent the weekend in Newport, RI at a Family Life conference.  We had a blast together!  Neither of us had been there before, and we had no idea it was such a charming, East Coast town.  They lay-out, stores, restaurants, and scenery are simply beautiful.  About 100 years ago, Newport was THE spot for the wealthy to spend August and there are mansions all down the coast (including a Vanderbilt Mansion... not too shabby).  It's still a prime summer spot, with Billy Joel parking his yacht in the harbor and Mick Jagger have a home on the island; I guess SJP spends some time there, too.  But, it's nothing compared to Hamptons.  However, the couple eating lunch next to us on Sunday was discussing how horrible single engine planes were and how they would never own one... their plane was apparently much bigger and they were debating where to fly in the month of May.  So, it's one of those towns... but still worth a visit!

Matt is working on his Master's Thesis this week and I am slowly (very slowly) starting the whole Spring Cleaning routine.  We're hosting an 8-person dinner party next Tuesday, so that'll be excellent motivation :)
